Robotics and Artificial Intelligence - Beginners Course

This Robotics and A.I. course is designed for young innovators at primary and secondary level. Students aged 08-15 years are welcome to participate. This course uses block-based programming to program a robot. Students will be able to learn about different components of a robot (obstacle avoider), and will learn how to construct a basic robot (obstacle avoider). The course is meant to spark curiosity in students about the world of machines and technology. It inculcates logical thinking in students, and gives a taste of how coding looks like.
Through guided, hands-on sessions, you’ll create circuits, assemble components, and program basic autonomous robots that can move, sense, and react to their environment.

Programme Schedule

Duration: 03 July to 25 July 2026 (Every Friday and Saturday only)
Location: Alpha Beta, Street 04, F-Block, Wah New City Phase 2

Module 1 – Introduction to Circuits, Microcontrollers, and Robotics

• Introduction to Robotics

• Basic Electrical Concepts

• Simple Circuit Building

Module 2 – Introduction to Programming & Simulation

• What is Programming? Logic and Sequence Basics

• Block-Based Programming (drag-and-drop coding)

• Writing first programs: Blinking LED, Sensor-based Conditions

• Programming and simulating microcontroller circuits

• Introduction to Circuit Design Software for Circuit Simulation

• Uploading and Testing Basic Arduino Code

Module 3 – Sensors and Kit Assembly

• Introduction to different sensors

• Interfacing Sensors with microcontroller

• Programming the sensors and microcontroller

• Controlling Motors through Block based codes

• Practical: Assemble Kits, Build a basic robot frame & test motor and wheel movements

Module 4 – Autonomous Robotics Projects & Assessment

• Combining sensors, motors, and logic

• Designing simple autonomous robots (2 different robots) for real-world functions

• Testing and troubleshooting robotic behavior

• Final Assessment & Certification Exam

The overall course is comprised of 8 to 10 hours of training sessions.

Certification

Participants who successfully complete all sessions and pass the final evaluation will be awarded the Alpha Beta Certified Robotics Beginner certificate.
